So, what exactly is PPIC?

Hello, and thank you for showing interest in Patient Partner Innovation Community, otherwise known as PPIC. So what exactly is PPIC? It is a network of everyday people just like yourself who really want to make a change in healthcare. We want to make sure that it’s safe and equitable for everyone, and you can help us do that.

Patient partners that are members of PPIC network have done many different things in healthcare. They’ve been connected with opportunities to sit on advisory panels, and participate in focus groups. They’ve been research partners in stroke disparities work. They’ve been patient speakers for organizations. They’ve completed surveys. They’ve helped develop education and training materials. So just know that there’s many different opportunities and many different ways to get involved, and we want to help connect you with those opportunities and help you get ready to connect with those opportunities.

How can I sign up?

So when you sign up for PPIC, it is very, very, very easy. Simply go to www.PPIConline.com and in the top right hand corner, you’ll see a blue button that says join PPIC, and you’re going to want to click that button. That’s going to take you to the signing page. You’re going to put your first name, last name and email address. Then that will take you to a series of forms that you’ll need to fill out information for. Know that when you fill out your patient profile in the PPIC network database, your information is secure. We’re NOT going sell your information with anyone. We’re NOT going to share your information with anyone. Your information is there for the network to be able to connect with you. That’s the only way you’ll be able to get connected to those opportunities is by filling out that profile. The other thing is, when you get connected with opportunities, the network ensures and picks those opportunities that are going to be paid. So really being able to make sure that you know, that your voice matters, and that you’ll be compensated as such, but you have to be responsive to those emails. So when those emails get sent out, saying, “Hey, we have an opportunity for…”, and if that interests you, please let the network know and they’ll get the ball rolling.
