Respecting the privacy of our clients, donors, members, staff, volunteers and of Manzar Health itself is a basic value of Manzar Health. Personal and financial information is confidential and should not be disclosed or discussed with anyone without permission or authorization from the Executive Director or President. Care shall also be taken to ensure that unauthorized individuals do not overhear any discussion of confidential information and that documents containing confidential information are not left in the open or inadvertently shared.
Employees, volunteers, and board members of Manzar Health may be exposed to information which is confidential and/or privileged and proprietary in nature. It is the policy of Manzar Health that such information must be kept confidential both during and after employment or volunteer service. Staff and volunteers, including board members, are expected to return materials containing privileged or confidential information at the time of separation from employment or expiration of service.
Unauthorized disclosure of confidential or privileged information is a serious violation of this policy and will subject the person(s) who made the unauthorized disclosure to appropriate discipline, including removal/dismissal and/or a fine.
The HIPAA privacy rule establishes national standards to protect individuals’ medical records and other individually identifiable information (collectively defined as “protected health information”) and applies to health plans, health care clearinghouses, and those health care providers that conduct certain health care transactions electronically. The United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) initiated 5 rules to enforce Administrative Simplification: (1) Privacy Rule, (2) Transactions and Code Sets Rule, (3) Security Rule, (4) Unique Identifiers Rule, and (5) Enforcement Rule.
Manzar Health’s employees, volunteers, and board members are required to sign forms that bind them to the confidentiality policy and are expected to adhere to the HIPAA privacy rule.
Our team emphasizes proper representation, accountability, and professionalism: however, Manzar Health is not responsible for the views, opinions, or practices of any third-party member(s) and external member(s) outside of Manzar Health’s direct leadership team.
